B-G&G Investors Ownership Philosophy

Degas Manor and Monet Manor Apartments are owned by B-G&G Investors, two Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) under the direction of Managing Partner, Howard Gyler.  We are for profit companies practicing sound, aggressive business strategies in order to provide our investors a preferred rate of return and protect their initial investments.

We are committed to providing high quality housing for moderate and low income households at affordable costs and to promote the convenience, safety, and welfare of the individuals living in our apartment communities.  The LLCs have not accepted local, state or federal tax dollars to rehabilitate the Baton Rouge properties.

What makes us unique apartment owners is that we do not view the concepts of 'profit' and 'community' as being exclusive of one another -- rather complements.  We strongly believe it is our responsibility to 'give back' to society and support our Residents and the Melrose East community of Baton Rouge, LA as illustrated by our actions:

  • Our active participation in the Melrose East Community Association and other community groups in our area.
  • Contributions in books, student and teacher supplies to area elementary and middle schools totaling $7000 in 2006, 2005,  2004 and 2003. We believe that children can only succeed when business is an active partner with the schools.
  • Contributions to and support of the Melrose East Youth Sports and Shout Out USA Summer Arts Programs.  Both programs give consideration to research that proves that through the arts and recreation youth learn new skills, expand their horizons and develop a sense of self, well-being and belonging.  Research also indicates that the crime rate decreases in communities where youth programs are in place.
